School Direct Placements September 2014/15

School Direct is the new route to QTS for both new entrants and experienced school colleagues who are looking to enter the profession, with bursaries and funding available for both unsalaried (fee-paying) and salaried routes.

Barnsley School Direct Alliance (the “ITT wing” of Barnsley Teaching School Alliance) offers to manage the ITT process on your behalf for any new trainees you may be taking on in September 2014 using the School Direct administration system that our Alliance already has in place. Furthermore, your trainees can take advantage of the bespoke and progressive training programme that our Alliance is developing for our trainees from September 2014.

The UCAS Teacher Training portal opens for September 2014 applications on 1st November.

Whilst September 2014 seems a long way off, potential outstanding new teachers will be applying for September placements in 10 weeks time.

We are now in the process of requesting ITT places on behalf of the partner schools in our Alliance.

The categories for secondary School Direct ITT are:

Priority subjects that attract larger bursaries and grants:

– physics – chemistry – maths

Other priority subjects that attract bursaries and grants:

– English – geography – history – computer science – Greek – Latin – music – biology – PE

If you are planning to take on School Direct trainees from September 2014 and would like to become a partner and take advantage of our School Direct setup, then please email barnsleytsa@wcpsandrscc.co.uk

Should you be interested we will  require the following information as soon as possible:

Please feel free to read the ‘School Direct Quick 5 Minutes Read’ should you require any further information.
